At the Impact Innovation Summit & Excellence Awards 2025 in Riyadh, Elena Unciuleanu received the award for Excellence in Banking Product Innovation. The recognition reflects her long career at the intersection of banking, compliance, and technology, where she has turned complex reporting requirements into innovative tools used by banks across Europe and the Middle East.
A Career of Banking and Technology Expertise
Elena has spent more than 18 years building reporting systems for over 20 banks. In that time, she gained technical know-how and direct insight into daily banking operations. This mix allowed her to design tools that could adjust as banking rules and requirements kept changing. Over the years, her work has earned multiple awards, including the Best RegTech in Banking Intelligence Award (2022), the e-Innovation Award (2023 and 2024), the DX in Banking Reporting Award (2024), and the e-Product Award (2025) for her work on interest rate risk computation.
Building Reporting Center and Pushing Boundaries
In 2015, Elena set up Reporting Center, a RegTech company created to automate the complex reporting banks must deliver to regulators. The following year, she launched the Elite Reporting Platform, a software tool designed to handle the entire reporting process—from extracting and parsing data to running algorithms and exporting reports in formats such as XML, Excel, CSV, and XBRL. What set it apart was its built-in repository of requirements from the European Banking Authority, covering FINREP, COREP, and Basel frameworks.
The platform was quickly put to use. Within three months of its launch, five banks had already started using it. And today the platform is in place at more than 20 banks and financial institutions. In recent years, Elena expanded into the UAE, aiming to build a global presence in RegTech. She also introduced the idea of Purple expertise, training professionals with hybrid technical and business skills to meet the pace of change in regulation.
A Note of Gratitude
Reflecting on her recognition, Elena said:
“This award is a milestone for both me and the Reporting Center team. We built our work on the belief that regulation can be automated without losing its precision. For us, innovation in banking is about trust, resilience, and giving institutions the tools they need to keep pace with change.”

The Impact Excellence Awards 2025 gathered leaders from more than 30 countries to celebrate achievements across finance, technology, education, and health. In honoring Elena Unciuleanu, the summit highlighted how product innovation in banking can move compliance from a burden to a source of progress and resilience.
