Avani Hotels & Resorts has introduced the Avani Book Club, a global programme designed to help travellers connect more deeply with each destination through books, local storytelling and shared reading experiences. Created for guests who prefer slower, more meaningful travel, the initiative brings together curated reading lists, cosy book nooks, book‑swap opportunities, author events and relaxed reading moments across selected Avani properties worldwide. The launch taps into the growing influence of online reading communities—think BookTok and Bookstagram—where books increasingly shape how people plan, experience and remember their trips.
At the centre of the programme is a handpicked global reading list featuring 30 titles across 15 Avani hotels and resorts in Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Indian Ocean. Each book has been chosen to reflect the spirit, culture or atmosphere of its location, blending literary quality with broad guest appeal. The selection ranges from contemporary novels and beloved classics to page‑turners and reflective wellness reads, giving travellers an easy way to find a story that complements their journey.
Standout pairings include Bangkok Wakes to Rain by Pitchaya Sudbanthad at Avani+ Riverside Bangkok, offering a layered portrait of the Thai capital, and Jessie Burton’s The Miniaturist at Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam, evoking the intrigue of 17th‑century Amsterdam. In Italy, Avani Rio Novo Venice features Kacie Rose’s New York Times bestseller You Deserve Good Gelato, a joyful blend of food, travel and personal reinvention. Rose will also join guests this summer for an Avani Book Club event and book signing.
Resort destinations are equally represented. Guests at Avani+ Fares Maldives can dive into Folk Tales of the Maldives, while Avani+ Barbarons Seychelles highlights Katherine May’s restorative Wintering. At Avani Victoria Falls, Namwali Serpell’s The Old Drift offers a sweeping multigenerational story of Zambia. Meanwhile, Australian favourites The Rosie Project and Big Little Lies bring light, engaging reads to Avani Jazz Corner Melbourne.
Beyond the reading list, each participating hotel will bring the Avani Book Club to life through local collaborations, themed menus, book swaps, children’s storytelling and community‑driven events. In Madrid, Avani Alonso Martínez Hotel regularly hosts Cosmopolitan magazine’s book club, creating a lively hub for literary discussion. In Amsterdam, Avani Museum Quarter will celebrate WorldPride with a Book Swap & Reading Night in partnership with The Swap Club, spotlighting LGBTQ+ stories, poetry and shared conversation.
In Thailand, Avani Ratchada Bangkok is launching “Sip the Story,” pairing books about Thailand with themed coffees, matchas and cocktails. At Avani Ao Nang Cliff Krabi Resort, guests can enjoy a story‑inspired afternoon tea by the pool, with menus crafted around selected titles and served against the backdrop of dramatic limestone cliffs. Young travellers at Avani+ Koh Lanta Krabi Resort can follow the adventures of Gok and Gek, the resident hornbill couple, through a custom activity booklet and a bedtime story illustrated by a Thai artist.
The Avani Book Club is now available at participating Avani Hotels & Resorts, with new local experiences and property‑led events rolling out throughout the year.
